Curiosities of Romanesque Style

There are some amazing places that are worth taking a look. Some of them belong to the Romanesque Style, specially in Spain, that is what I know a bit. There are naive fresco paintings that can make smile the most historic-alergic one.

Great recommendations,

Great recommendations, Palmira! These days most Spaniards are traveling a lot around the globe but sometimes they (we) do not realize about what we have here and the "Románico" is a good start. Here you have a Romanesque route.

By the way, have you ever heard about the expression "worth visiting"? It is very useful. For instance, you can say "Palencia is worth visiting since they have a good deal of Romanesque" (I hope this is correct because, as you know, I am not a native speaker at all...). En español lo traduciría por "Merece la pena visitar Palencia dado que tienen un montón de Románico".

Hello Palmira, Your post

Hello Palmira,

Your post reminded me of a beautiful Romanesque church --- quite small --- that I chanced upon in high country south of Oviedo. It was very peaceful, protected by a big St Bernard dog. There were snow-capped mountains nearby and yet I think it was only September.

One suggestion. Most English speakers will work out what you mean by "can make smile" but a more natural way to say this is "to bring a smile". So, you could say ---- There are naive paintings that will bring a smile even to those allergic to history.
